Young & Free | Sista Sista Feature 3 of 5

These three sisters are on a path to meeting three very different career goals and their differences are truly beautiful. Growing up in a military family, Chynah, Hillary and Aliya learned quite early that family is everything and having built in best friends in each other would get them through many moves and changes in their childhood.

Leader of the pack | Meet Chynah
I first met Chynah the night my husband, Robert, and I got engaged. She quickly became a great friend and true supporter of SoSis from day one. When thinking of sisters to feature, Chynah and her large family were at the top of our list.

Chynah is a very driven person and it shows in many aspect of her young career. After graduating from Louisiana Tech early, she pursued her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. She now works in Houston as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. Her passion for her work spills out of her every time she talks about her career and that is inspiring to all those around her.

This March, Chynah and my brother-in-law, David, will be getting married and I am honored to stand in the wedding as a bridesmaid. I'm excited to welcome another brunette into what is a very beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed family!

Opening a new chapter | Meet Hillary
Hillary is Benton sibling #2 of 4. Yep, there is a boy thrown in right at the end of the family tree. She is a beautifully tall and smart 22-year-old on a path to becoming an Occupational Therapist. And, she's a vegan.

After graduating from Louisiana State University (LSU), Hillary, like so many young people, didn't really know what she wanted her next step to be. She took a short break from school to figure that out. After gaining some work experience, and probably a little soul searching, Hillary applied and was accepted into LSU New Orleans in hopes of finishing and becoming an occupational therapist. I'm excited to be around when Hillary finishes school and moves into her career. I wish her all the luck in the world learning how to study while living in the fun-loving city of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Focused and driven | Meet Aliya
I'm pretty sure Aliya - most people call her Ali - would have been A-ok as the youngest Benton, but that didn't quite work out that way. I know she is alright with that. At just 19 years old, Ali exudes all of what a college student should be. Attending LSU, Ali recently decided to take the pre-med track and I'm pretty positive her determination and drive will get her through with flying colors.

Her advice to young college women - try everything. She believes that when you are young and undecided on your major, next step, etc., you should try many different classes, learn a new trade or gain experience in an area you are unfamiliar with. Because really, what do you know until you try?

THANK YOU Chynah, Hillary & Aliya
Huge thanks to all of you for giving us a Saturday morning and allowing us to share your sweet story with our sistas. We are so grateful for your ongoing support of SoSis and loved getting to know all of you a little bit better through this feature.
