Stay-at-Home Date Night with my Valentine

When you are a mom of two little girls, married to a baseball coach and it's February, you do what works. And that is have a stay-at-home date for Valentine's Day. Well, back up for a second... First, I'll be busting my little booty over at my mom and dad's flower shop - Germean's Flowers & Gifts - in Marksville, LA all day long for Valentine's Day. So, by the time I get out of there, I'll be too exhausted to even think about going out to dinner. My husband will also be busting his booty at the ballpark all day playing some of his first games of the season. So, what do we do? We cook at home, have a glass of wine (or three) and let our kids run wild. Plus, the thought of trying to think that far in advance to book a reservation somewhere, find a babysitter and rush because of our busy schedules is exhausting in itself.  We don't mind a little stay-cation if you will.  Maybe we will be able to get the girls to go to bed early and we can enjoy our dinner in peace. Probably not. Who am I kidding? So, for those of you out there who are like me, just enjoy the comfort of your own home and cherish these moments with the ones you love. Whether it's your hubby and kiddos or just you and The Notebook, make the best of it!   [caption id="attachment_2803" align="alignnone" width="650"]1-29-15-valentine1 My go-to sweater right now is the All About Comfort Sweater. Super cute paired with olive skinnies, a pair of nice Jeffrey Cambell shoes, our On Point Necklace and top it off with a Nellie headband by Annie Claire Designs (of course).[/caption]   [caption id="attachment_2804" align="alignnone" width="650"]1-29-15-valentine2 Casual and cool. Perfect for date night at home![/caption]   [caption id="attachment_2805" align="alignnone" width="800"]1-29-15-valentine3 Details, details. Loving this On Point necklace. It literally goes with everything.[/caption]   When thinking about what we will cook, I'm all about whatever is easiest and tastes good. I'm also not the best cook in the world, so a recipe is a must.  Do you know that Monjuni's Restaurant in Baton Rouge, LA has a little grocery store where you can buy their homemade sauce, pasta and anything Italian to cook a nice, thoughtful dinner? I just found this out and I'M SOLD.  My hubby will think I'm the best cook in the world after this!  Or he may be the one cooking it, but either way, it fits into our lifestyle.
